Over the past few months, our team has been working tirelessly to launch a major crowdfunding campaign on La Ruche:
At the heart of this project is a striking observation:
The lack of diversity in school reading lists. Inspired by teachers seeking to introduce underrepresented voices into their classrooms, this project aims to make resources highlighting women writers from diverse backgrounds more accessible.
Our goal:
To create 10 reading guides featuring works by Indigenous women and women from diverse cultural, sexual, and gender backgrounds. These guides will provide secondary school, CEGEP, and university teachers with practical tools to diversify classroom reading lists. This is an essential initiative to bring a wider range of literary voices into the classroom, raise awareness of discrimination-related issues, and promote social equity!
