A new literary prize in honor of Caroline Dawson was announced yesterday by journalist Emilie Perreault. The award will recognize a novel or essay published in French by an emerging Canadian writer from a diverse background.

“Since the release, in 2020, of her autofiction novel Là où je me terre, writer Caroline Dawson has forged valuable ties with Radio-Canada‘s radio and audio teams, and with listeners of ICI Première and Radio-Canada OHdio. […] She is a regular contributor to the program Il restera toujours la culture, and it is this special relationship with the program’s team that is behind this new literary prize.”

“This prize, which bears my name, is music to my ears. I’m very proud and full of gratitude. It’s a great idea to have this legacy to give,” said the writer.
