Dimitri Nasrallah was born in Lebanon in 1977. Fleeing the civil war in 1982, his family lived in Kuwait, Greece and Dubai, before moving to Canada in 1988. He is a very active member of the Anglo-Montreal cultural scene: writer, translator, editor, creative writing teacher and occasional DJ. His first novel, Blackbodying 1 1 Dimitri Nasrallah, Blackbodying, Kottayam, DC BOOKS, 2004, 220 pages , won the McAuslan Prize and was a finalist for the Grand Prix du livre de Montréal. His second, Niko 2 2 Dimitri Nasrallah, Niko, Chicoutimi, Éditions La Peuplade, 2016, 398 pages. received the Hugh MacLennan Award, and has been translated into French. Nasrallah has since published two other novels translated into French: Les Bleed 3 3 Dimitri Nasrallah, Les Bleed, Chicoutimi, Éditions La Peuplade, 2018, 272 pages. and Hotline 4 4 Dimitri Nasrallah, Hotline, Chicoutimi, Éditions La Peuplade, 2023, 376 pages. which earned him a place on the shortlist for the prestigious Giller Prize.
